We love to check in with our members to find out what draws them to PCMA and the value that keeps them coming back. In this edition, we caught up with Andrea Chang, Director of Group Sales at the Hilton San Francisco Financial District and Jacquie Chapman, Sales Manager at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel & Spa, and here is what they had to say.
I am fairly new to PCMA and I have to say that the membership is truly valuable. PCMA offers an extensive platform for all things meetings and events; from opportunities to engage face to face with customers to educational sessions and sharing best practices to building meaningful relationships (both professionally and personally), PCMA covers it all. Through PCMA, I have reconnected with old industry friends and made new connections. I am also impressed with the educational content of Convening Leaders and the local chapter events. Overall, I find PCMA’s community of educated event professionals very passionate about our industry and are welcoming and inclusive of all of our members.
I became a PCMA member earlier this year after attending the GMID event at AT&T Park and after meeting with Elaine Rothenhaus, at an event at Hotel Nikko last year. She encouraged me to join the membership committee as a way to become more connected and involved with the community. Being a Sales Manager from the Monterey Peninsula, I wanted to become more active in my market (San Francisco Bay Area). I attended their mid-year meeting and got to meet everyone on the board and learn about what makes PCMA NCC successful. Everyone was extremely welcoming and it was a great experience to learn more about what future committees I can join within PCMA!
