When President-Elect Elisa Sandoval Wong took the microphone, she said, “When we met at our Board retreat earlier this year, we wondered what we were doing for our members. We decided that we should be doing something to say ‘thank you’ and give back to them. Welcome to our first ever Members Only Event for the Northern California Chapter of PCMA.”
There’s nothing like being a little spoiled for a couple of hours on a sunny afternoon on the San Francisco Bay. That’s the experience Giants Enterprises provided, inviting us onto the newly remodeled California Spirit.
The First Members Only trip embarks.
As soon as we embarked, attendants were at the ready with either water or sparkling rose to serve our pleasure. More attendants circulated the two decks, offering appetizers prepared by the private Executive Chef, who does all the catering on board the Spirit.
After a quick welcome from the patio deck, the Spirit embarked on its cruise around the bay. An observation made by several members during the hour cruise, was how beautiful the city is. Seeing SF from the bay, observing its skyline, passing by docks and marinas around the perimeter of the city, and watching a couple of brave people swimming in the bay (presumably training for a competition) was a reminder of all the great things San Francisco has to offer.
The gathering was short but sweet, lasting about two hours in total. The event was preserved for posterity by Break Beat Billy Photography and of course was sponsored in whole by Giants Enterprises. Please check out their services here:

One of PCMA NCC’s missions for 2018 is to show the value of a membership. There is now a larger gap in the member/non-member pricing for chapter events. The second decision was to create a free Members Only event, which is what we were able to enjoy out on the Spirit. The Board of Directors is looking forward to providing more education/networking opportunities and overall benefits to the membership.
