A Conversation with Platinum Sponsor, Giants Enterprises

We recently had a chance to have a conversation with the good folks at Giants Enterprises.  Have a read at what they have to say.

Q: Why is it important to you to be a Platinum Sponsor for PCMA?

A: We take great pride in supporting all of our local meeting & event associations in the Bay Area and PCMA is at the top of the list. At Giants Enterprises, we are proud to say that our staff is actively involved in PCMA, MPI, ILEA, GMIC and CEMA from both a local & international level – it’s within our culture to give back and participate actively. PCMA is an incredible association and we continue to partner with them on an annual sponsor level as well as host events at our facilities on a routine basis. We wanted to join at the Platinum Sponsor level to show our continued commitment to the Northern California Chapter at the highest level and are already looking forward to 2020 when PCMA Convening Leaders comes to San Francisco! We’ve hosted the annual AT&T Park Networking & Giants game event for more than five years and this year we are hosting a members-only event aboard our new luxury yacht, the California Spirit.  We’re thrilled to be so involved with PCMA and are excited for what the future holds.

Q: You’ve generously hosted GMID for the past two years – what was behind your decision making to host it each time, and is this something we can expect to become annually?

A: GMID is an incredible international event and we feel honored to have hosted GMID at the ballpark the past two years. GMID is the brainchild of the U.S. Travel Association and we at Giants Enterprises are members of both U.S. Travel and their Meetings Mean Business Coalition.  Deciding to host meeting professionals from around the Bay Area to celebrate and participate in an international day of advocacy was a simple decision for us. As I’ve mentioned, we have so much active participation among most of the associations involved as well as the facilities to accommodate large groups – we had close to 450 attendees this past April and our event ranked within the Top 5 in attendance internationally, which we are proud of. We have built so many great relationships and partnerships over the years and it makes so much sense for us to welcome all of our friends, colleagues and partners into our home to celebrate such a great cause. We’ll do everything we can to keep hosting this event into the future!

Q: Giants Enterprises is a huge supporter of several industry associations in the Northern California market – what differentiates PCMA in your minds?

A: PCMA has such a great collection of industry professionals and it is truly a very close-knit chapter here in Northern California. PCMA feels like a family. One of the biggest differentiators is the quality of education you receive – whether it’s attending Convening Leaders to kick off the year, the mid-year EduCon, or a local chapter event – PCMA continues to put an intense focus on delivering the best educational programs in the industry.

Q: What would you like people reading to know about Giants Enterprises?  Anything in particular you’d like to highlight?

A: That we’re growing and diversifying our offerings – we have more than 15+ venues to host events, including areas outside of AT&T Park. Our recent On The Water expansion, which includes our California Spirit & Yacht Lady vessels, allows us to host events on San Francisco Bay in addition to providing a fantastic opportunity to host Giants’ gameday programing. Our expertise isn’t confined to private events either – we are hosting three concerts this year, our annual Giant Race Series (including the 9th annual San Francisco Giant Race on September 9th) and the biggest Rugby event to ever set foot on U.S. soil – the Rugby World Cup Sevens 2018 tournament. We have our hands in a lot of things and it is truly incredible how much we’ve been able to accomplish in such a short amount of time.

Q: Any closing remarks or words of wisdom you’d like to share?

A: The importance of dedicated & active participation in our local associations is paramount. I truly believe that by focusing your effort – whether joining as a first-time member, participating on the Board, to helping with volunteers – everything matters and will help your growth both personally and professionally. Get out there and network, attend as many events as you can and look to help however you can – motion creates emotion! There are countless incredible opportunities waiting to be seized and it doesn’t take much to dive in.
